The History of ActingHeartNYC & Instructor Wayne David Gasser

Adding 'Casting Director' & 'Associate Producer' to his long list of credits (having recently cast the feature film "100 Yards" and named as Associate Producer on the project), Wayne David Gasser has more than 25 years in the entertainment industry.

While attending college he started out in the mailroom at WNAC-TV(CBS-Boston) and worked himself up to liaison between the CBS stars and the local station while they were in Boston promoting their shows.  At 19, Wayne was greeting such guests as Lucille Ball, Bea Arthur, Valerie Harper, Bob Newhart, Dan Rather, Woodward & Bernstein, Vincent Price and Jimmy Hoffa!

After graduating and moving back to the New York City area, Wayne, through a chance meeting, began working with rising young actor Kevin Bacon (as freelance publicist) and classic actress Margaret Hamilton ('Wicked Witch of the West' in "The Wizard of Oz").

Shortly thereafter, Los Angeles called and at 22 Wayne moved West.  He was introduced to actor Bill Beyers, who played 'Wally McCandless' on the CBS soap "Capitol" which prompted him to begin his own Publicity and Management firm, The Gasser Group, with Beyers as his first official client.  Other clients soon followed:  Stars of "The Young & the Restless," "Santa Barbara," "General Hospital," and actors Sonny Schroyer ('Enos' of "Dukes of Hazzard") and Anthony Perkins ('Norman Bates' of original "Psycho").

One of Wayne's clients dared him into taking his acting class.  After attending the one class, Wayne kept returning, as it gave him a deeper understanding of actors and their challenges.  Two of his fellow classmates were 'newcomer' Brad Pitt and Drew Barrymore!

After 13 years in Los Angeles, Wayne moved back to New York City, where he is a Personal Manager for a select group of talent, dealing with Casting Directors and Agents on a daily basis, as well as teaching "ActingHeartNYC" one night a week.
